UK Dredging (UKD) operates the largest British-owned dredging fleet and specialises in the provision of reliable and cost effective port maintenance dredging services.

At ABP, we continuously invest in the infrastructure, equipment, and skills we need to handle a vast array of dry bulk cargo safely, efficiently, and sustainably.

Dry Bulk commodities

With significant investment in our people, their safety, storage facilities and equipment, our 21 ports are ready to meet the increasing needs of dry bulk freight. These include: Agribulks (including fertiliser), Bulk Energy (biomass), Construction Materials (including sand, gravel, and cementitious products), and Forest Products.

We are equipped to handle your cargo and provide a wide range of flexible storage solutions across our ports

Continuous investment in Dry Bulk

Over £300 million has been invested in the last 6 years in storage and handling equipment alone, allowing us to improve our discharge and loading performance as well as being able to store more product in the same overall footprint, through the innovative design of new bulk storage facilities.

Sustainable supply chains

At ABP, we’re also supporting our customers in building more sustainable supply chains. As well as developing on-site renewable energy generation and low emission technologies, we’re also investing in our infrastructure to develop coastal shipping solutions, rail freight services and port-centric manufacturing.

Investing in new electric and hybrid port equipment (including cranes and vehicles) means that we reduce carbon emissions from port operations and can utilise on-site renewable energy, such as solar.

Modern facilities, expert people, efficient operations

Supported by a wide range of material handling specialists and construction engineers, we continue to work with customers, existing and new, to develop state-of-the-art facilities and operations that meet their requirements, both now and into the future. Utilising the most cost-effective construction methods, ensuring that we incorporate the latest technology and carbon mitigation are vital parts of our offering.
