The ABP Humber Coastal Half Marathon and 10k is returning to Cleethorpes for its 7th year on the 17th September 2023. The running challenge, organised by Tape2Tape, is set to attract thousands of runners from across the Humber and beyond. The coastal course provides unrivalled views of the beautiful Humber Estuary, with its big sky and long landscape. Both the half marathon and 10k are nice and flat so if you are a new runner or looking for your ‘personal best’ the event will be perfect for you.

Associated British Ports (ABP) Humber is once again sponsoring both races, and whilst runners are welcome to raise funds for any charity, the chosen charity for the race is the Cleethorpes RNLI.

ABP Humber Regional Director, Simon Bird, said: “This is now the seventh year that ABP have sponsored the Humber Coastal Half Marathon which has not only become a significant fixture in the annual running calendar but has also helped to be a major boost to tourism for Cleethorpes and Grimsby. I am hugely proud of ABP’s association with this race, which this year we hope will be the biggest yet.”

The race is supported by around 250 volunteers who guide and cheer runners across the course to give it their best, hand out refreshments, and take photographs of the runners as they undertake their challenge that are then made available free of charge.

One of Tape2Tape’s regular volunteers, Maureen, said: “I love volunteering at Tape2Tape events, I feel like I can give my bit back as I am too old to run now. We always feel welcome and useful and that is important at my age, I look forward to it each year.”

This year’s half marathon course takes in scenic countryside, far reaching views, coastal footpaths, and trails, with a fantastic finish on Cleethorpes promenade where runners will receive their bespoke race medal, finishers t-shirt and some well-earned cake!

The popular, traditional half marathon will also see the addition of a much awaited 10k course that is flat and fast! We are pleased to be working alongside many local charities and community groups who all love getting involved with this wonderful scenic event.
