The Immingham Eastern Roll-on Roll-off Terminal plans have been revised following a public consultation earlier this year.
As a result of the responses and representations that Associated British Ports (ABP) has received to date, together with the commissioned navigation simulation, it has been decided to reduce the size and scale of the scheme.
Simon Bird, Director in the Humber, said: “The redesigned proposals are as a direct result of the very helpful responses and representations that ABP received during the consultation process from regulators, stakeholders and the public.”
The changes that ABP proposes to make as it continues to work on the application are as follows:
- A reduction in the number of berths from four to three by removing the berth nearest to the shore from the scheme
- A consequent reduction in the size of the required dredged berth pocket
- The removal of one berth meaning there will be a reduction in vehicular throughput which enables ABP to remove the Eastern Trailer Park Area from the scheme.
A Development Consent Order (DCO) will be submitted in summer 2022.
