Associated British Ports (ABP) will once again be celebrating its incredible history and culture by hosting two port tours at the Port of Hull, on Thursday 15th September at 11 am and 1 pm. The tours are on offer free of charge, as part of 2022’s Heritage Open Day events.

Book your free place and enjoy a coach tour at the Port of Hull around King George Dock, where you will discover how the Port of Hull became one of England’s busiest, and most important ports throughout the 14th and 15th century.

Your guide will provide a full commentary throughout the trip, highlighting the ports modern day features and its fascinating history.

There are two tours at 11 am and 1 pm that will take an hour, including time to board and alight the coach.

Leaving from the P&O Ferry Terminal, the coach will make its way to King George Dock, where you will see vessels being loaded and discharged with their various cargoes. The tour will also take in the Hull Container Terminal, with its ship to shore gantry cranes standing 60m high.

Dafydd Williams, Head of Policy, Communications & Economic Development at ABP Humber said:

“We are looking forward to welcoming members of the public back to the Humber Ports, highlighting not only their incredible history but also the ports’ current role in transforming the Humber into the UK’s first net zero carbon cluster.”
