Runners at the launch of the ABP Humber Coastal Half Marathon and 5k organised by Tape2Tape
Associated British Ports (ABP) are delighted to be headline sponsors of the 2022 ABP Humber Coastal Half Marathon organised by Tape2Tape.
The race will take place on Sunday 18th September, and it’s expected 2000 runners will take part. In its sixth-year runners can choose from the half marathon (13.1 miles/21 km), a 5k (3.1 miles) or a fun run (1 mile) for the children.
Simon Bird, Director for ABP Humber said: “It’s our sixth year in supporting this race and every year we see such great support from the runners and the community that come along to cheer. After two years of a pandemic, we’re excited to see the race return in full and we’re committed to sponsor it for another three years.
“Nicola and Neil from Tape2Tape are such a driving force behind this and this is our chance to support them to ensure they continue to deliver for the entire community’s benefit, from runners to businesses and visitors.”
Nicola and Neil Pattison, the organisers from Tape2Tape said: “We are delighted that ABP Humber have very kindly agreed to support the race for the next three years. This is a firm favourite in the regional race calendar and attracts runners from far and wide.
“The finish has an amazing seaside back drop, there’s so much to love about this race! The event supports the local community with many charities and groups getting involved and enjoying coming together with others to celebrate this fantastic race. We are also pleased to be able to support the local Cleethorpes RNLI again.”
The 5-kilometre race is very attractive to running newcomers, as well as seasoned participants who wish to run a fast 5k time. The flat multi-terrain half marathon has some fantastic views of the Humber Estuary, the busiest in the UK, and takes in the RSPB reserve, making it a fast course.
The event supports the local community with many charities and groups getting involved and enjoying coming together with others to celebrate this fantastic race. With closed roads and chip timing, runners can be assured of a fabulous event with a medal, cake, and a technical tee shirt at the end.
