Today, Associated British Ports (ABP), the UK’s largest port operator has confirmed its presence at the The UK’s Real Estate Investment & Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF), where it will showcase its offering from 21-23 May 2024, in Leeds.

ABP stands at the forefront of the UK’s port industry, overseeing a network of 21 crucial ports responsible for a significant share, approximately £157 billion annually, of the nation’s seaborne trade. With over 1,000 hectares, a portfolio of over 1,000 tenants and strategically located ports, ABP has a major commercial property portfolio and a uniquely diverse and compelling proposition. Offering tailored, sustainable solutions to new and existing tenants, ABP is one of the biggest commercial landowners in the country.

A steadfast commitment to environmental responsibility drives ABP, set out in its sustainability strategy, ‘Ready for Tomorrow’ and reflected in its remarkable achievement of slashing CO2 emissions by over 38% since 2014. Beyond its core operations, ABP engages in diverse activities encompassing property management, cutting-edge marine environmental research, and vital dredging services.

Not only has ABP secured a spot in the UKREiiF exhibition hall, at stand B56, where over 10,000 developers, investors, occupiers and local authorities will visit over the course of the three-days, it will host a panel discussion on ports’ role in supporting growth in the real estate market at the Markets and Sectors Pavilion on Tuesday 21st May. The session will discuss the latest market trends and peel back the curtain on the ports sector, which is wanting to engage with the built environment ecosystem.

Ian Henderson, ABP Head of Property, commented: “We are looking forward to meeting many manufacturing and logistics businesses at UKREiiF and showing them how our ports can help their businesses grow by combining space, low-carbon energy access and the people power they need.

“Come and talk to our friendly team about commercial real estate solutions. With our wide-ranging expertise, local connections and track record we can deliver a tailored solution that will help save you time, energy and cost.”

ABP also benefits from an award-winning team, as it scooped the prestigious “In-House Planning Team of the Year” category at the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI)’s Awards for Planning Excellence, recognising the creativity and success of its planning and consenting team. RTPI’s judges described ABP as a strong, dynamic, close-knit team who go above and beyond to deliver social and environmental benefits, using traditional and imaginative techniques.

Keith Griffiths, Chief Executive Officer, and Founder of UKREiiF, said: “We’re pleased to announce that ABP will be joining us for the third annual UKREiiF event! Their expertise and knowledge within the sector will be highly appreciated and beneficial for our delegation.”

Led by the UK’s leading property events company Built Environment Networking and supported by some of the biggest UK property and infrastructure companies, the third annual UKREiiF event will be held in Leeds on 21-23 May 2024. The forum will attract inward investment, generate economic growth, and drive a more sustainable and inclusive culture within the property and construction industries.
