ABP are launching the procurement of a major design and build contract for the development of a RORO facility and associated marine infrastructure at the Port of Immingham. The procurement will aim to appoint a lead consortium to deliver the design and construction work under a 2-stage contracting method.
The project will include the design and construction of:
Up to three new outer harbour ferry berths
Associated marine infrastructure including finger pier, pontoon, link-span and jetty approach structures
Landside development including freight and passenger vehicle parking and highways infrastructure over a minimum of 46 acres
Design and construction of a new passenger terminal building, including an engineering workshop and all associated incidental works
ABP is developing the concept design under the newly established Professional Services Framework and intend to go to market under a negotiated procedure to bring the D&B contractor onboard early. The first stage of the contract will include further development of design in a collaborative manner between the client and the contractor, with the second stage completion of the remaining design and construction of the works.
ABP is aiming to release a PQQ with call for competition by the end of June 2022, and the target contract award date is by the end of year 2022. The operational go-live date is December 2024.
