ABP Harbour Master Steve Masters exchanges plaques with Captain Alessandro Zanello
ABP’s Port of Southampton has welcomed Silversea Cruises’ ultra-luxurious ship, Silver Moon, for the first time. ABP Harbour Master Steve Masters met with the ship’s Master, Captain Alessandro Zanello, exchanging plaques in a traditional plaque and key ceremony at Horizon Cruise Terminal on 18 May. Silver Moon’s call represents one of almost 60 made by cruise ships to the port during May, as Southampton prepares for its first five-ship day of 2022 this weekend.
Constructed in Italy and delivered in 2020, Silver Moon is the second ship in Silversea’s Muse-class series. Accommodating 596 passengers, Silver Moon maintains small-ship intimacy as a hallmark of Silversea’s luxury offering. Calling in Southampton on a transit call, Silver Moon will subsequently tour the UK and Northern Europe, before arriving in Reykjavik. Silver Moon will return to Southampton in September. Silversea Cruises’ Silver Cloud will visit the port this summer, and ABP Cruise’s Port of Cardiff recently welcomed Silversea’s Silver Whisper.
