ABP Swansea storing gifts for the Mr X appeal

Associated British Ports’ (ABP) Swansea Office has once again acted as gift depot for the much-loved Mr X appeal. The appeal has been running since the 1950’s to ensure disadvantaged children in the local area receive a Christmas gift. ABP Swansea stored the donated gifts and encouraged staff to get involved by donating games, toys or books.

In total over 8,000 gifts were stored at the port office which will be checked, wrapped and distributed in time for Christmas.

Robert Gray, Port Manager said:

“The volume of gifts shows how generous people of South Wales are. It really is heart-warming. The appeal is a wonderful initiative. Thank you to all the volunteers for organising the appeal every year. Thank you to the Swansea team for accommodating the mountain of gifts and getting involved by donating gifts.”
