Drawing on 60 years of experience, ABP Marine Environmental Research (ABPmer) provides specialist marine environmental research and consultancy services.
UK Dredging (UKD) operates the largest British-owned dredging fleet and specialises in the provision of reliable and cost effective port maintenance dredging services.
ABP plans to develop up to 17MW od installed onshore wind capacity in Immingham in two delivery phases. Phase 1 includes plans to install two turbines, which were submitted into planning in March 2024 and Phase 2 is focused on plans to install up to two additional turbines at Immingham (up to 8MW).
On Tuesday, 21st October, the public are being invited to attend a consultation as part of Associated British Ports (ABP) plans to install onshore wind turbines at the Port of Immingham. The consultation will take place at Immingham Civic Centre between 4:30pm and 7pm. At this event people can view the proposed plans and talk to members of the project team.
ABP is consulting with stakeholders on plans to install several onshore wind turbines to make the Humber ports greener and more resilient against higher energy costs. To continue decarbonisation efforts and to help control electricity costs for the ports, ABP is proposing to build onshore wind turbines at Grimsby, Immingham, and Hull.
ABP supports the Government’s ambitions to achieving Net Zero and recently launched its own £2 billion plan for Energy Transition growth and Net Zero 2040. Called Ready for Tomorrow, it looks to meet the challenges and grasp the opportunities. ABP has already reduced its own CO2 emissions by over 38% since 2014 and invested over £55 million in sustainability measures, which includes the largest commercial rooftop solar array in the UK at the Port of Hull, electric vehicles and cranes across the group and a new fleet of more fuel-efficient pilot boats. More information about the proposed onshore wind development at the Port of Immingham can be found below.
