ABP ANNOUNCEMENT: Director Southampton
November 2, 2015
ABP regrets to announce that Nick Ridehalgh, Director Southampton, has informed the ABP Board of his wish to leave the group during the first half of 2016.
Nick has been with ABP since 1991 and was appointed Director, ABP Southampton at the start of 2014 following a successful six years running ABP’s Short Sea Ports division.
ABP Chief Executive James Cooper said: “While leading the Southampton team, Nick has presided over a period of considerable growth in all of the port’s main trades including containers, cars and cruise. The £112 million expansion of Southampton Container Terminal and the associated dredge of the port’s approach channel was completed under his leadership, as was ABP’s acquisition of Marchwood Industrial Estate earlier this year.
“Most recently, Nick led the team that negotiated an extension to DPW’s license to operate Southampton Container Terminal which was announced earlier this week.
“We would like to thank Nick for his contribution over the years; he will be much missed. We wish him and his family all the very best for the future.”
Nick will be returning to the north-west where his family is based during the first half of 2016 but will remain with the group in his current role until the search for a suitable successor is complete.
