A DAY AT THE RACES RAISES MONEY FOR CHARITIES

An £800 donation, made to the Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance, will give one of their helicopters four hours of continuous flying time, enabling two missions, per hour, to be completed. Another £800 donation, to the Immingham Seafarers Centre, was made towards the upkeep and maintenance of the centre’s minibus, which is used to transport seamen to and from their vessels and the Seafarers Centre.

A race meeting held recently at Market Rasen and sponsored by Associated British Ports (ABP) and six port companies based at ABP’s Port of Grimsby & Immingham raised £1,600 for the Immingham Seafarers Centre and the Air Ambulance. The port companies included DFDS Tor Line, GBA Group, PD Port Services, Rowlinson Timber, Sea-Cargo and Svitzer.

In uncharacteristic English summer sunshine, over three hundred guests enjoyed the hosts’ hospitality and a raffle of generous prizes, which included a weekend in Gotland, a mini-cruise to Amsterdam, a trip on the London Eye and dinner aboard a Thames leisure cruiser, Centre Parcs holiday vouchers, a day at Market Rasen races, a luxury barbecue and summer hamper and garden ornaments.
