ABP’S NEW HEAD OF IT APPOINTED
Associated British Ports (ABP) has announced the promotion of Eddy Hooper from Information Services Business Systems Manager (South) to the position of Head of IT with effect from 1 May 2007.
Mr Hooper, 42, brings to bear experience gained both in the field of computer services and during his service with the Merchant Navy. He joined the Company eight years ago, and has played a central role in the introduction of new software systems designed specifically for ports, such as the implementation of a new cargo-management package in 2003.
He said: “I am delighted to be given this opportunity, and look forward to using my experience of maintaining regional IT networks to face the challenge of running ABP’s growing information systems infrastructure across the country.”
Cardiff-based Eddy Hooper is married to Deborah and has two sons, Daniel and Harry. In his spare time, he is a keen sailor.
