ABP LAUNCHES DEDICATED CSR WEBSITE
Demonstrating its commitment to best practice in corporate social responsibility (CSR) reporting, Associated British Ports Holdings PLC (ABP) has launched a dedicated CSR website. The website was launched today, coinciding with the publication of the Group’s CSR Report for 2004, and can be found at http://csr.abports.co.uk.
The website was launched because ABP’s new hardcopy report is more ‘slimline’ than in previous years, consisting primarily of data and figures that illustrate the Group’s progress in sustainable business practices. It is on the website that the more in-depth information can be found, covering health and safety, the environment, employees, shareholders, customers, suppliers and local communities. The website will also feature updates on CSR issues and a section where readers can register their feedback.
Richard Adam, Group Finance Director & Chairman, CSR Management Committee, explains: “By complementing our report with this website, we are in a better position to reach out to all our stakeholders. Those interested primarily in our data for 2004 can find it, clearly and succinctly, in our printed report. Anyone who wants less variable information about ABP’s CSR strategy can access it by visiting the website.”
He added: “The website also has the added bonus of cutting down the amount of paper used to produce a full-size hardcopy report, and is therefore environmentally friendly.”
