CARGOFLOW – SOUTHAMPTON VEHICLE CENTRE EARNS SEAL OF QUALITY FROM FORD

Ford Motor Company (‘Ford’) has awarded Cargoflow – Southampton Vehicle Centre (‘Cargoflow Vehicle Centre’) ‘Q1’, its standard of supplier excellence. Stephen Burgess, Managing Director of ABP Connect, the value-added services division of Associated British Ports (ABP), and operators of the vehicle-processing facility, received the award from Nick Greer of Ford’s Supplier Technical Assistance and Edgar Arens, Manager of Ford’s Manufacturing and Logistics, Vehicle Personalisation department, at a ceremony held at the facility’s central office.

Based at ABP’s Port of Southampton, the UK’s leading vehicle-handling and processing port, Cargoflow Vehicle Centre provides Ford with a number of specialist services. Companies supplying products and services to Ford are eligible for Q1 consideration, but only those companies that meet exacting requirements are awarded the standard. Over the past four years, staff at Cargoflow Vehicle Centre have been working closely in conjunction with Ford to achieve this key accreditation, and will continue to do so to maintain registration.

Stephen Burgess, who accepted the award on behalf of all at Cargoflow Vehicle Centre, said:

“This is an important day for Cargoflow Vehicle Centre. Registration to Ford’s Q1 accreditation standard is a fine testament to the hard work many people have put in to ensuring that we have in place business management systems that measure up to Ford’s high expectations. We will continue to work with Ford to ensure that we maintain our standard of service.”

Ford’s Edgar Arens said:

“We have been working with ABP Connect for several years now, and we all know the vehicle-personalisation business is not easy to handle for many reasons outside of our direct influence. One of ABP Connect’s most important strengths is their flexibility and ability to react to unpredictable, short-term changes in our operations, without any compromise in quality. With a highly motivated team, they demonstrate real partnership and a trustful sense of responsibility.”
