AMPORTS is a leading automotive processor based, primarily, in the USA. Its six terminals are based at four port locations – Baltimore, Maryland; Benicia, California; Brunswick, Georgia; and Jacksonville, Florida. In addition to port operations such as receiving, inspection, storage and export preparation, AMPORTS’ operations extend into high-level value-added services such as customisation, port modification and upfitting, and also the provision of logistics services.
The largest automobile port in the south-east USA, AMPORTS’s facility is located on Blount Island and is comprised of some 57 ha of land. Located within easy reach of Interstate 95 and Interstate 10, the terminal is served by nine deep-water berths, two of which are adjacent to the facility. The terminal also provides a 36-railcar loading/unloading ramp. Buildings totalling approximately 12,685 sq m are used for a full range of services such as accessory installation, body work and general homologation.
