Dry bulks

The major traffic at Teignmouth, ball clay, is exported for both Watts Blake Bearne and Imerys to every corner of Europe. The port also regularly handles animal feed, and cargoes of a wide variety of other bulks such as grain, fertiliser, stone chippings and salt. The port also has an EPA licence for handling slag cement through its purpose-built facility.

  • Appriximately 14,000 sq m of high-quality covered storage in 20 separate bays used for the storage of animal feed, slag cement, agribulks and clay. GAFTA certification is in place for all stores that are used for animal-feed storage
  • two 60-tonne weighbridges and two modern loading shovels dedicated to animal-feed handling
  • five cranes, two grain elevators and a fleet of fork-lift trucks for the handling of a wide variety of dry bulk, mini-bulk or palletised commodities
  • real-time stock-control, delivery programme and material traceability, provided by a sophisticated computer control system
  • capacity for vessels in excess of 5,000 dwt
