General cargo

Swansea is well placed to serve the local West Wales hinterland, and with excellent road and rail connections are able to serve the industrial Midlands cost-effectively. The port has the expertise, facilities and equipment for handling all types of general and project cargoes. ABP will arrange a total logistics package for general cargo including redelivery and stock control at the terminal, passing on cost savings.

Facilities include:

  • Three berths capable of accommodating vessels of up to 30,000 dwt.
  • Large fleet of fork-lift trucks of up to 40 tonnes’ capacity.
  • Two 40-tonne capacity and two 25-tonne capacity cranes.
  • Additional cranage ranging from 6-10 tonnes’ capacity.
  • 16 ha of open storage available for non-weather-sensitive cargo.
  • 30,000 sq m of covered storage.
  • Direct rail access.
  • ABP will arrange a total logistics package for general cargo including redelivery and stock control at the terminal, passing on cost savings.
