Animal feed store: one shed, capacity 10,000 sq m, 20 ha of concrete-paved handling and storage area.

The port's pre-existing 8,200 sq m of covered storage has recently been added to, with the completion of the £1.3 m extension to 9 shed. This multi-purpose facility can handle a range of products including timber, panel products, steel and dry bulks and totals 8,000 sq m.

Fertiliser store: one shed, capacity 5,000 sq m.

Common-user store: one shed, capacity 2,880 sq m.

South Side, South Dock
Open storage, capacity 5 ha, for a range of bulk and steel products

Bulk cargo Terminal
Berth: 1.5 ha with back-up storage of 20 ha. Extensive areas also available for development on the port estate.

Combi Ship Operations
Heavy lift/containers for combi vessels are handled by 25-tonne capacity cranes and three mobile harbour cranes.

Rail links
Direct rail access to the bulk terminal provides environmentally-friendly haulage and associated savings. The port handles regular trains between South Wales and the Midlands carrying steel, aluminium and other general cargo. In the steel terminal, trains can be worked undercover if required.

Vehicle Storage
18 ha of land is available for the storage of vehicles. There is also a bonded compound for the storage of imported cars.

Dry Dock Facilities
The dry dock at Newport is operated by specialist heavy-lift engineers. Accommodation measures 138 m x 19.5 m.
