The port boasts 18,200 sq m of GAFTA/UKASTA-registered storage located on the north side of South Dock providing:

Two double weighbridges, which can help to reduce delays and assist in keeping haulage costs to a minimum.
A large fleet of front-loading shovels available for redelivering cargo.
One eight-tonne and two ten-tonne capacity grabbing cranes able to service vessels of up to 40,000 DWT.
Supplementary cranage provided by a 45-tonne Harbour Mobile Crane with 16- tonne grabbing capacity.
Dust-suppressed hoppers, reducing waste and ensuring that stringent environmental controls are maintained.
Value-added services including discharge, haulage to shed, weighing, bagging and subsequent redelivery to road haulage at competitive prices.

Sims Metal UK Ltd operates one of the UK's premier recycled-metal facilities at the North Side, South Dock. The terminal has recently been expanded to incorporate a state-of-the-art refrigeration and recycling facility.

Newport can also build custom-designed facilities tailored to meet customers� individual needs and requirements.

The port is able to handle biomass products and has the necessary licences in place to do so.
